Avast Web Shield is an extra protection feature that is installed along with the Avast Antivirus software. It performs a real-time scan and keeps your device secure from malware and spyware. Your Android smartphones and tablets are also prone to malicious viruses, malware, and spyware.

Unlock your smartphone and go to the Google Play Store app.
Search for Avast and select the Avast Antivirus – Mobile Security & Virus Cleaner app.
Tap Install and wait until the installation is completed.
Now, touch Open.
When the Avast Mobile Security app opens, select Get Started.
You can either use the application for free by selecting the Basic version or tap Upgrade Now to use the Pro version with added features which is based on a subscription plan.
Fix Avast Web-Shield Will Not Turn On
If you are facing problems with the Avast Web Shield feature and if it doesn’t turn on, proceed with the steps that are given below to resolve the issue.
Make sure that no other Antivirus application is installed on your computer.
Click on the Windows icon and type Apps and Features in the Search section. Then, open it.
Scroll down and select the Avast software.
Click on the Uninstall option.
When prompted for the User Account Control access, click Yes.
In the Setup wizard, click the Repair option. Then, click Yes in the confirmation window.
Once the repairing process is complete, click Done.
Now, restart your computer to fix the issue.
If the issue persists, open Avast Antivirus on your computer, and go to Settings.
Select the Components tab and turn on the toggle switch in the Web Shield section to enable protection.
Fix Avast Web-Shield Keeps Turning Off
If the Avast Web Shield component keeps on turning off often, carry out the solutions given below to fix the issue.
Launch the Avast program, click the menu icon, and select Settings.
Click the Update tab and checkmark the ‘Virus definitions up to date’ and ‘Your application is up to date’ options. Then, select Check for Updates.
Now, update your Avast software to the latest version.
Open Avast and check whether the issue has been resolved.
If the issue persists, click the Menu icon on the Avast main interface.
Go to Settings and select the Troubleshooting tab.
Now, click on the Repair app button under Still having problems.
Wait until the repairing process is completed and restart your computer to resolve the issue.
Avast Web Shield Blocking Internet
Sometimes the Avast program may block some phishing websites. But if you can’t access the internet, consider the steps that are given below to fix the issue.
Launch the Avast program and click the Menu icon. Then, select Settings.
Click the Protection tab and select Core Shields.
Navigate to the Web Shield section, uncheck the Enable HTTPS scanning option, and then click OK.
Open your browser and check if you can access the internet now.
If the internet is still blocked, right-click on the Avast icon on the taskbar and select the Disable for 10 minutes option.
If the problem remains unresolved, update the Avast program to the latest version to fix the issue.
Avast Web Shield Whitelist
Your Avast Antivirus software might block specific sites that are not safe. If you find the blocked site as safe, you can add the website’s URL to whitelist by following the steps that are given below.
Open the Avast program and click the Menu icon. Then, click the Settings option.
Select the General tab and click the Exceptions section.
Now, select Add Exception and type the URL you want to unblock. Then, click the Add Exception button.
If any files or folders are blocked, click Browse in the Add Exception section. Then, choose the file or folder, and click OK.
Now, the URL or folder will be added to the whitelist and you can access them without any issue.
