The AVG error code 0xe0010002 occurs while trying to uninstall the AVG antivirus software from your Windows computer. Step 1: Check the version of AVG installed on your computer

The reason to check the AVG version is that, if the AVG product is of version 17.0 or later, then the AVG Clear tool can be used to remove it. If it is of an earlier version, then you have to use the AVG Remover tool to fix Avg Error Code 0xe0010002.

  • To find the version of the AVG antivirus on your computer, open the AVG antivirus application, click the Menu option, and select About.
  • Then note down the version under the Software version section.

Step 2: Download AVG Clear or AVG Remover

Based on the version of the AVG antivirus software on your computer, download and install the AVG tool to uninstall the AVG antivirus software.

  • Visit the AVG website using a web browser.
  • Place the mouse cursor over the Support menu and click the Installation files option from the drop-down list.
  • Then click and download the AVD Clear or AVR Remover tool.
  • The tool will be downloaded as a .exe file on your computer.

Step 3(a): Remove AVG antivirus using AVG Clear

If your AVG antivirus software is of version 16.9 or earlier, then go to the next step. Else, follow the steps given below to uninstall it using the AVG Clear tool.

  • Locate and right-click on the downloaded AVG Clear file.
  • Select the Run as administrator option.
  • Click the Yes button in the User Account Control window.
  • When a prompt appears recommending to reboot the system in Safe Mode, click the No button.
  • When the AVG Clear tool is launched, select the AVG antivirus software and its installation directory from the drop-down list, and click the Uninstall button.
  • Once the AVG antivirus software is uninstalled, click the Restart computer button.

Step 3(b): Remove AVG antivirus using AVG Remover

Follow the instructions given below to remove the AVG antivirus software using the AVG Remover tool.

  • Locate the AVG Remover file and run it as administrator.
  • Allow access by clicking the Yes button in the User Account Control Window.
  • Click the Continue button under the AVG Remover icon when the remover wizard is opened.
  • The remover tool will scan your computer and show the AVG antivirus installed on it.
  • Click the checkbox near the AVG antivirus software and then click the Remove button.
  • Now, click the Run anyway button to proceed with the uninstallation process.
  • When completed, click the Restart button and restart your Windows computer.
