How to fix Avira Antivirus Windows 10 Update Problem?

Method 1: Upgrade your Avira product

Uninstall the Avira antivirus software from your Windows 10 computer.

Download the latest version of the Avira software and install it on your computer.

In case you are already using the latest version of the software, then check if there is an update available for it. You can update the Avira antivirus software in two ways.

Select and right-click on the Avira antivirus icon.
Click the Start Update option.

If an update is available, then it will be downloaded and installed.
If not, the Up-to-date message will appear on the screen.

Updating using the Avira Update tool

Download and run the update tool on your Windows 10 computer.
If an update is available, then the tool will automatically update the software.

Now, try to update your Windows 10 OS.
If the issue persists, then try the next solution.

Method 2:

Check if the files of an earlier Avira installation exists on your computer. If yes, delete them.

Go to the Download folder.
Search for the old Avira installation files and select them.

Tap the Delete button.
After deleting the files, check if the update problem has been resolved.

Method 3: Delete avipbb.sys

Search for the avipbb.sys file in the following directories:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers
C:\Program Files (x86)\Avira\Antivirus (64bit operating system)

C:\Program Files\Avira\Antivirus (32bit operating system)
Once you find the file, delete it from each directory.
Now, try to update your operating system.
