Avira Rescue System Usb
If you need to know how to create a bootable USB drive for the Avira Antivirus Rescue System product, refer to the easy instructions provided below.
- Avira recommends using a utility called Rufus that can create a bootable drive. This utility downloads in the .exe format and doesn’t require installation.
- After downloading Rufus to your computer (that is not infected), proceed to create a bootable drive.
- You need to first format your USB drive. To do so, connect the drive to your computer.
- Open the File Explorer window, click the My Computer tab on the left panel, and navigate to the Devices with Removable Storage section.
- Right-click the USB drive and choose the Format option.
- When the Format Removable dialog window appears on the screen, choose the FAT32 option from the File System drop-down list.
- Select the checkbox beside the Quick Format option and then click the Start button.
- If a warning message displays on the screen, click the OK button.
- The USB drive format might take up to two minutes.
- Once you see the Format Complete message, select the OK option in the Formatting Removable Disk dialog box.
- Exit the Format Removable Disk dialog window by clicking the Close button.
- Now, run the downloaded ufus utility. Give a double-click on its icon to open the utility.
- In the Drive Properties window, click the Select tab.
- Now, add the Avira Rescue System ISO file to the Boot selection.
- Set the Partition Scheme to MBR. The Target System should be set to BIOS or UEFI.
- Finally, click Start. Wait until the bootable USB drive is created.
- You can now connect this drive to the infected computer. You need to change the Startup sequence of your computer’s OS for it to boot through Rescue System.
