Avira is an Antivirus Software that can protect your computer from potential virus threats. The software works efficiently against online and offline threats. However, you may receive Avira Uninstall Error at times.

Avira Antivirus Uninstallation Steps

  • First, start your Windows in Safe mode. To do so, launch the Run dialog box by pressing Windows + R shortcut keys.
  • Type ‘msconfig’ in the Run dialog box and hit the Enter key to launch System Configuration.
  • Click the Boot tab in the window that opens and select the Safe Boot option under the Boot options section.
  • Click OK and restart your computer to run in Safe mode.
  • Now, open the File Explorer and delete the avipbb.sys file from the following file location.
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers (for Windows 32-bit version)
  • C:\Windows\System64\drivers (for Windows 64-bit version)
  • Also, remove the files with the avipbb extension from the above-mentioned file locations.
  • Next, you have to Delete Avira Folder from the following file locations:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Avira\Antivirus (for Windows 64-bit version)
  • C:\Program Files\Avira\Antivirus (for Windows 32-bit version)
  • Open the Run dialog box again and re-run the msconfig command.
  • Now, head to the General tab and select the Normal startup option.
  • Click OK and reboot your computer to run in normal mode. This will fix the Avira Uninstall Problem.
  • Now, proceed to Uninstall Avira Software.
  • Install the necessary Windows updates and open the Quick Access menu by pressing the Windows + X shortcut keys.
  • Click the Programs and Features tab from the pop-up menu.
  • Locate the Avira Antivirus tool from the displayed list and give a right-click on it to select the Uninstall option.
  • You can also click the Uninstall button after selecting the Avira Antivirus program.
  • If the Avira Uninstall Error reappears, download and install the Avira Registry Cleaner tool to remove the Avira Antivirus from your computer.
