What is Bitdefender Firewall Exceptions?

This page explains about Bitdefender firewall exceptions (or rules).Usually, a firewall exception is used to allow specific traffic on a network. For example, if you find traffic is trustable on your network, then you can add it to the firewall exceptions list to allow it. To do so, you need the sender and receiver’s IP address & the type of traffic (web or SSH).

  • On your computer, open the Bitdefender 2018 application.
  • On the main interface of the application, click the Protection tab.
  • In the Protection window, click the VIEW FEATURES option followed by the Gear icon.
  • Now, navigate to the NETWORK ADAPTERS tab.
  • Click on your network adapter’s list.
  • Select the Home/Office option from the drop-down menu beside your network adapter name.
  • Click the Home/Office network option at the bottom of the screen.
  • Now, go to the Settings tab.
  • Click on the Edit Stealth settings command line.
  • Now, turn off or disable your network adapter by clicking the switch beside it.
  • Click the OK button.
  • Now, click the Rules tab followed by the Add Rule sub-tab.
  • Go to the Settings tab.
  • Make sure to enable the Allow this rules to all applications option.
  • Similarly, set the switch beside Permission to Allow. Select the Home/Office option from the Network Type drop-down menu.
  • Similarly, select Any from the Protocol drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Both option for the Traffic Direction rule.
  • Now, click the Advanced tab.
  • Enable the Custom Remote address option by setting the switch beside it to ON.
  • Now, in the IP field, enter the IP address of the device that you wish to allow.
  • Finally, click the OK button.
