The AVG software uses AI technology to scan, detect, and remove malware, viruses, and other harmful software from your computer. The AVG security software is compatible with the old and latest versions of the Windows operating system. However, there are still some issues encountered by the Windows 10 users while installing the AVG software on their computers. Simple solutions

  • Initially, make sure that your Windows 10 computer is connected to an active Internet connection because a stable Internet connection is required to install the AVG software.
  • If you are trying to install the AVG software on a computer that doesn’t have Internet access, then use the offline installer file of the software. 
  • In case you have a stable Internet connection, and still you are unable to install AVG on your Windows 10 computer, try restarting your computer and then installing AVG.
  • Check to make sure that your Windows 10 computer meets the system requirements of AVG.

Method 1: Disable Real-time protection

Generally, the Windows 10 OS comes with the Windows Defender program built-in. So, to install any third-party software on your computer, you have to disable the Real-time protection feature of Windows Defender. To do the same, carry out the instructions given here.

  • Check to make sure that you have signed in to your Windows 10 computer with admin rights.
  • Now, open the Settings window on your computer.
  • Select Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings. Here, disable the Real-time protection option.
  • Now, try to install the AVG software on your computer.

Note: If you have already installed some third-party software on your computer, then disable it temporarily to install the AVG application.

Method 2: Update your Windows OS

Sometimes, updating your Windows OS may also resolve the installation issue.

  • In the Settings window, select the Windows Update option.
  • Click on the Check for updates button.
  • If the Windows update is available, you just have to wait for it to complete.
  • After the update, restart your computer and try to install AVG. z
