Fix The Error 2318 Windows Installer?

Most of the Windows 10 or Windows 7 users might have encountered the error 2318 Windows installer while installing/uninstalling certain applications like Bluestacks or Popcorn Time. Solution 1: Delete all registry file related to Bluestacks or Popcorn Time

  • As soon as you encounter this error, delete all registry files related to the application. Because, in most cases, the registry problem might be causing this error.
  • To do so, open the Run command window on your computer.
  • Type the regedit command and tap the Enter button.
  • In the window that opens, look for all the registry entries related to Bluestacks or Popcorn Time and select them.
  • Tap the Delete button on your computer’s keyboard.
  • If you encounter the error 2318 Windows installer again while trying to uninstall the application, try the next solution.

Solution 2: Restart Windows Installer

If there is an issue with the Windows installer, then restarting it will fix the issue. To restart the Windows installer, follow the instructions given below.

  • Open Command Prompt as administrator.
  • Run the following commands in the cmd window:
  • net stop msiserver
  • net start msiserver
  • Now, try to uninstall or install the application on your computer.

Solution 3: Disable Firewall

Sometimes, the Microsoft Defender’s firewall feature might be blocking the other application.

  • To disable the Firewall feature, go to your computer’s Settings window.

Solution 4: Check Installer Service status

If the Installer Service is paused or not running, then there is a chance for the error 2318 to occur. To fix it, perform the instructions given below.

  • Open the Run command window.
  • Type the command Services.msc and tap Enter.
  • Look for Windows Installer and double-click it.
  • Select Manual as the startup type for Windows Installer.
  • Click Start followed by OK.
  • Now, check the error 2318 Windows installer.
