Install Eset agent on Mac
ESET Agent facilitates the communication between the client computers and the ESET Remote Administrator(ERA) components. The ERA components are the Proxy Server and the ERA Server. If you wish to install the ESET Agent on Mac, follow the below-mentioned steps.
- On your Mac desktop, open the default browser and navigate to the official ESET site.
- Click the download button near the ESET Agent file. It will be denoted as “installer.dmg” on the official site.
- After downloading the Agent installer file, locate the downloaded file on your Mac folders.
- Give a double-click on the installer file and select the .pkg file to run the installation.
- During the ESET Agent installation, configure the Server hostname, Server port, and Use Proxy settings if you are prompted to enter the Server connection data.
- Provide the IP address or the hostname of the ESET Security Management Center(ESMC) Server in the Server hostname field.
- Enter the default port 2222 as the port for Agent-Server communication in the Proxy port field.
- If you use a non-default port, it may lead to installation failure.
- Select the Use Proxy option if you wish to use the HTTP Proxy for the Agent-Server connection.
- For a secure connection, select a Peer certificate as well as the password.
- Make sure not to use “ and \ characters to avoid errors during the Agent initialization.
- After verifying all the settings, click the Install button to install the ESET Agent on your Mac.
- Make sure you reviewed the installation location for the ESET Management Agent log file.
