  • Click on the Apple icon. Go to System Preferences.

  • You won't be able to see the Anywhere option. But there is a way actually to enable the option.
  • Open the Terminal utility on your Mac and type sudo spctl --master-disable and hit Enter.
  • Type the Admin password and hit the Enter key.
  • Again go to System Preferences, click on Security and Privacy, and you will be able to see the Anywhere option.

Disabling gatekeeper permanently:

  • You have to open the Terminal by pressing cmd + space.
  • Type sudo spctl --master-disable and hit Enter.
  • Now enter your Mac OS password and press the Enter key.
  • You can check the Gatekeeper’s status using the sudo spctl --status command and hit Enter.
  • Gatekeeper is disabled permanently. Now you can install applications from anywhere (even from unknown resources).
