  • Launch your Windows 10 computer or laptop.
  • Click the start button once the Windows opens.
  • Search for Windows Security in the search bar. 
  • The Windows Security is also there in the Control panel.
  • On the left side of the Windows Security, you will find the Virus & threat protection option.
  • Click on the Virus & threat protection tab. On your right, you will see a list of settings.
  • At the bottom, you will see the Virus & threat protection option. Click Manage Settings.
  • The manage settings will open a new set of options in the window.
  • The Windows Virus & Threat protection settings will show you Real-time protection option right below the screen.
  • You will find the toggle slider for Real-time protection.
  • Turn off Antivirus Windows 10 by sliding the option to the left.
  • The message will read, Real-time protection is off, leaving your device vulnerable (With a red cross).
  • Once you perform the above steps, the antivirus will now be disabled from the real-time protection. Performing this step will enable you to install applications or make any specific system change.
  • To enable the protection, you can restart your Windows 10 and perform all the options again and enable by sliding the option to the right.
