Sometimes, you can’t find the programs that are installed on your Windows computer in Control Panel, which means you cannot uninstall those programs if you wish to do so. How To Uninstall Programs Not Listed In Control Panel

Accessing Control Panel:

  • Go to the search bar on your Windows computer, type ‘control panel’ in the search field, and then click Enter.
  • The Control Panel window will open on your screen.
  • Click on the Programs option, and on the next screen, click on Programs and Features.
  • Now, the Control Panel window will list all the programs installed on your computer.
  • If the program that you want to uninstall is not listed in Control Panel, you can delete it by accessing the registry editor on your computer.

Accessing Windows Registry Editor To Uninstall A Program:

  • Open the run command by pressing the Windows and R keys together.
  • Type Regedit in the Run command window and press Enter.
  • You will be able to see  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE; click on it.
  • Now, you will see different other options. Click on Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion. 
  • Finally, when you see  Uninstall, click on it. You will now see all the programs installed on your computer. In case you don’t see the name of the program in the folder name, then click on the folder and identify the program name from the right side window of Windows Registry Editor.
  • Select the program that was not listed in Control Panel, right-click on the program, and then select the Delete option.
  • Also, you have to delete the program from WOW6432Node.
  • In the Windows Registry Editor, select  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > WOW6432Node.
  • Select your program, right-click on it, and then select Delete.
  • A dialog box prompting for confirmation will appear on the screen. Select Yes in the dialog box.
  • Now, you have deleted or uninstalled the program that was not listed in Control Panel.
