If Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 blocks file sharing on your computer and you have no access to shared folders, carry out the troubleshooting steps provided on this page to fix the Kaspersky Blocking File Sharing issue.
Step 1 - Network settings on Windows 7
- On the desktop of Windows 7, navigate to the Start menu at the lower-left corner.
- Click the Control Panel option from the context menu.
- Select the Network and Internet option followed by the Network and Sharing Center option.
- Go to the ‘View your active network’ section.
- If Public network is selected, change it to Home network.
- Exit the ‘Set Network Location’ window by clicking the Close button.
- This will take you to the Network and Sharing Center window.
- Select the ‘Change advanced sharing settings’ option on the left panel.
- Navigate to the Network discovery section and select the ‘Turn off network discovery’ option.
- Go to the ‘File and printer sharing’ section and select the radio button beside the ‘Turn on file and printer sharing’ option.
- Also, select the ‘Turn off Public folder sharing’ option under the Public folder sharing section.
- Click Save changes and exit the Advanced Sharing window.
