Fix: Kaspersky Cannot Guarantee Authenticity Of The Domain

Kaspersky is one of the most-used, award-winning security software that provides real-time protection for your device and the data stored on it. Kaspersky applications like Kaspersky Internet Security, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, and Kaspersky Total Security are used by millions of people for different purposes. Purchasing, installing, and activating any Kaspersky product on your computer are simple and easy to perform. At the same time, after installing the Kaspersky product on the computer, few users have encountered few errors as well. For example, when a user tries to open a website in their device browser, a dialog box with the following message is displayed on the screen: “Kaspersky cannot guarantee authenticity of the domain to which encrypted connection published.” If the same message is displayed on your computer screen, then you have reached the right page where you can find the solution to fix it.To clear the error, you need to manually install the Kaspersky Lab software certificate in your browser as given below.

Installing Kaspersky Lab software certificate:

  • On your Windows computer, go to the following folder path: C:\ProgramData\KasperskyLab\AVP“X”.0.0\Data.Cert\(fake)Kaspersky; where ’X’ is the application version.
  • Copy the Kaspersky Lab software certificate and paste it to a location where you can access it easily.
  • Now, check if “show of hidden items” is enabled on your computer. 
  • To check it, open the desired Kaspersky application on your computer.
  • Click on the View tab.
  • Select the Show/Hide sub-tab.
  • Check whether the box beside the Hidden items option is enabled. If not, enable it. 
  • Now, launch a browser on your computer. In this section, we have explained the steps for the Mozilla Firefox browser.
  • Click on the Menu icon.
  • Choose Options > Advanced > Certificates > View Certificates.
  • In the Certificate Manager window, click on the Authorities tab.
  • Click the Import button.
  • Select the certificate and click on the Open button.
  • Now, in the Downloading Certificates dialog box, select these options: Trust this CA to identify websites, Trust this CA to identify email users, and Trust this CA to identify software developers.
  • Click on the OK button.
  • Now, relaunch the browser.
