PRINTER NOT FOUND ON NETWORK MAC
Having a reliable printer doesn’t mean that you will not face any issues with it. Printing issues do occur at times. In case your printer is not found on the network on your Mac, check if it is connected to the correct wireless network. Sometimes, this error occurs when you have configured the printer using incorrect wireless settings (for the printers with LCD panels). In such cases, restore the network settings and reconnect your printer to the exact wireless network. To troubleshoot the printer issues on your Mac, keep reading the instructions below.
REMOVE AND RE-ADD YOUR PRINTER USING AIRPRINT
- For HP printers, download the HP Easy Start app on your Mac.
- Launch it and click the HP Easy Start menu at the top-left corner.
- Select the Uninstall HP Software option from the drop-down list and carry out the on-screen instructions to uninstall the driver.
- For other printers (Epson, Brother Canon), click the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
- Click the Printers & Scanners icon and select your printer from the displayed list.
- Click the button to remove your printer from the list and open the Hard Drive.
- Go to Library --> Printers and then select the folder with your printer name.
- Click and drag the printer folder to the Trash and restart your Mac.
- Now, open the Printers & Scanners window and click the Add icon and select your printer's name from the displayed list.
- In case your printer is not listed or the printer is not found on the network on your Mac, check the wireless connection.
- After selecting your printer, click the Use drop-down menu and select AirPrint.
- Finally, click the Add button to resolve the printer issues<
RESET PRINTING SYSTEM
- Before you begin, ensure that your printer is turned on and properly connected over the wireless network.
- On your Mac, click the Apple menu and select the System Preferences option.
- Click the Printers & Scanners icon in the System Preferences window and go to the Printers section.
- Right-click on the empty box and select the Reset printing system option.
- If prompted, confirm your action by clicking the Reset button. Enter the administrator name and password in the respective fields and click OK to complete resetting the printing system.
- Now, re-add your printer to the Mac.
