How to Remove Mac Defender Malware?

We know that Mac Defender is a malware that fakes as an antivirus program. If you install it on your computer, it allows the other malicious program’s notifications to appear on the browser and tricks you to download the malware program. Solution-1: Empty the trash

Sometimes, your browser might automatically install this malicious program.

Close the browser window to stop installing it.

If you cannot close the window, click the Apple menu and Force Quit the browser.

Following that, if the system prompts to enter the administrator username and password to allow the installation, do not enter them and cancel the prompt notification.

Immediately, open the Download folder and find the newly downloaded program.

Now, drag the file to the Trash folder.

Open the Trash folder and click the Empty Trash button to clear all the files in it.

Solution-2: Use a third-party remover

If the software is installed and if it requests to enter the payment details and private information, do not provide it.
Download a reliable third-party malware remover tool on the computer and install it.
Launch the tool and scan the computer for malware.
When the malware list appears, see if the Mac Defender program is present on it.

Go on to remove all the files and programs in the malware list.
Next, navigate to the Utilities folder and select the Applications folder to open it.
Click the Activity Monitor and check if the program is present.
Open the Applications folder and if you still find the Mac Defender program, drag it to the Trash folder.
Empty the Trash folder.
