How to Remove Virus From Chromebook?

  • Open Google Chrome on your Chromebook.
  • Click the Settings option.
  • Select the Advanced option.
  • Click the Reset button.
  • Now, your Chromebook browser’s settings will be restored to the default settings.
  • After resetting the settings, make sure to restart the Chrome web browser.

Now, check if the Chromebook device is working properly. If not, check whether your Chromebook is infected by a malicious site attack or not. If yes, perform the following troubleshooting instructions to resolve it.

  • First, you have to reset the Chromebook.
  • Press the Fresh and Power buttons at the same time.
  • Now, your Chromebook will be factory reset to the default settings.
  • Leave it turned OFF for some time.
  • Now, power on the Chromebook device and sign in to it.
  • Open the Google Chrome web browser.
  • As soon as the browser opens up, a window titled Restore will appear on the screen.
  • Click the X icon available at the top right corner of the browser screen.
  • Make sure not to click the Restore button. If you click it, then there is a chance for the malicious web pages to reopen.
  • Now, check whether the malicious site attack issue is resolved by accessing few web pages.
