Sometimes, uninstalling Avast using the Add/Remove Programs in the control panel becomes impossible. If you are unsuccessful in uninstalling Avast from your computer, you need not worry at all. - You can remove Avast by using the simple tool from Avast themselves.
- On your computer, navigate to your default browser and type Avast removal tool in the search field. From the results, click on Avast uninstall utility.
- You will be directed to the avast clear download page. When you click on the avastclear.exe, the software will be automatically downloaded to your computer.
- Once it gets downloaded, run the software.
- It will intimate you to run that tool from Windows Safe Mode.
- Click on Yes so that your system starts to reboot in safe mode to run the tool.
- When you click on Yes, it will ask you whether you want to restart your computer at that time. Click on Yes.
- Let your computer get restarted.
- Once the tool gets opened, you need to select the installation program directory, installation data directory, and the version you have installed. Fill in those fields. But if you are not sure of that, leave it unchanged.
- Now go ahead and click on the Uninstall button.
- Even if you had installed the software in different locations, once you click on the Uninstall button, the Avast clear software will delete everything related to Avast.
- You will be informed that Avast had been uninstalled successfully and now you have to click on the Restart Computer button.
- Once your computer gets restarted, go to the Settings followed by the Apps. You can notice that Avast had disappeared. You can also check in the Programs section of the Control panel.
- Now, you have successfully uninstalled Avast from your computer.
