Uninstall Avira antivirus using Avira Uninstall Tool

You can use the Avira Uninstall tool to remove the Avira Antivirus software from your computer. How to uninstall Avira Mac?

You can uninstall the Avira Antivirus on your Mac device by following the methods given below.

Method 1:

  • Open the Finder app from the Dock.
  • Click on the Applications folder and scroll to locate the Avira Antivirus app
  • Now, click and drag the Avira app to the Trash folder.
  • Enter the admin password of your Mac device when prompted.
  • In the Uninstaller window, follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
  • Wait until the uninstallation process gets completed, and click the Done button. ‘
  • Now, the Avira Antivirus program will be removed entirely from your Mac computer.
  • Go to the Bin folder and empty Trash to remove the program completely.
  • Restart your Mac device once the uninstallation process gets complete.

Method 2:

If you have installed the Avira Antivirus application from the App Store, proceed with the steps given below to completely uninstall Avira program from your Mac device.

  • Open Launchpad on your Mac device.
  • Type Avira in the search section. Then, click on the Cancel icon on the upper left corner of the Avira icon.
  • Now, click the Delete button in the pop-up window.
  • You don’t have to empty trash, as all the Avira installer files get removed entirely.
  • Reboot your Mac device to remove the Avira Antivirus software completely.

Method 3:

  • Click the Go menu and select the Utilities option.
  • In the Utilities folder, double-click the Avira-Uninstall icon.
  • When the Uninstallation wizard is displayed, click the Yes button in the Uninstall Application section.
  • Enter the admin username and password to confirm the uninstallation process.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions untill the Avira is uninstalled from your computer.

Proceed with the steps given below to fix the “Avira won’t uninstall issue in Windows" issue.

Method 1:

  • Press the Windows + R buttons together to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type “msconfig” in the input field, and click the OK button.
  • When the System Configuration window appears, navigate to the Boot section.
  • Enable the Safe Boot checkbox and select Apply. Then, click on the Apply button.
  • Once the computer restarts, search for the “avipbb.sys” file in My computer. Select all the files related to it and press the Delete key.
  • Now, go to the location on your computer where the Avira Antivirus software is installed.
  • Press the Start key and search Run.
  • In the Run dialog box, type “msconfig” again.
  • Now, go to the General section in the System Configuration window.
  • In the Startup Selection screen, select the Normal startup option. Then, press the OK button.

Method 2:

  • If the Avira Antivirus software is still present, uninstall the software using the manual method.
  • Press the Windows key and select the Settings option from the list.
  • Navigate to the System window.
  • Go to the Apps & features section.
  • Now, locate the Avira icon and click on the Uninstall button.
  • When prompted, for User Account Control, click Yes.
  • Wait until the uninstallation process gets complete.
  • When the notification appears to restart your computer, click Yes.
  • Once your computer restarts, go to the installed location and check whether any Avira files are present.
  • Delete all the registry files from your Windows computer to remove the software entirely.
  • Now, restart your system again.
