Steps to uninstall McAfee from your PC

The steps given here are to uninstall McAfee from a Windows computer.

  • On your PC, go to the Start menu.
  • Select the Control Panel and choose Program from the list.
  • Select Programs and Features and search and locate the McAfee tool from the list.
  • Select the Tools and click on Uninstall option from the top of the page.
  • Select Yes to confirm uninstalling the product.
  • Now make sure the product gets uninstalled. If not, try removing McAfee by using the McAfee consumer products removal tool.
  • Make sure the PC is connected to the Internet.
  • Open a web browser and go to the official web page of McAfee.
  • Search for the McAfee products removal tool and download the same.
  • Make sure you download the removal tool that supports your PC’s OS.
  • Search and locate the software on the Downloads page.
  • Double-click on the .exe removal software to install it.
  • Click Install after accepting the terms and conditions and click Next.
  • Enter the provided code in the box available to confirm removing the product and click Next.
  • The removal software will search for the product to be removed.
  • Wait until the software removes the McAfee antivirus software.
  • Select the Reboot option on the tool when prompted.
  • After your PC resumes, make sure the McAfee software is completely removed from the PC.
